The Invitation

What if Shabbat is not simply a day of rest — but a complete spiritual ecosystem?

A carefully crafted architecture of time designed to restore presence, deepen relationships, awaken wonder, and reconnect us with what matters most.

Through prayer, music, nature, study, conversation, meals, contemplation and community, participants experience Shabbat not as a tradition to learn about — but as a reality to inhabit.

Zevi Slavin

Your Guide

Zevi Slavin

Zevi Slavin is a teacher, musician and contemplative guide whose work sits at the meeting point of Jewish mysticism, depth psychology and lived experience. He weaves Chassidic and Kabbalistic wisdom with niggun, silence and embodied practice.

Through his lectures, music and immersive gatherings, Zevi has guided thousands of seekers into a more felt, intimate relationship with Shabbat, prayer and the soul. He brings warmth, humor and unhurried presence — and a deep belief that the tradition is meant to be tasted, not just studied.

"Shabbat is not a day we keep. It is a presence we step into."

The Journey

A six-stage pilgrimage through sacred time.

Each stage opens a different doorway into Shabbat — from release, through delight and presence, into transcendence and integration.

IFriday Afternoon

Release

Arrive carrying the momentum of ordinary life. Through reflection, preparation and intentional slowing, gently cross the threshold from ordinary time into sacred time.

  • Arrival & welcome
  • Surrendering phones
  • Intention-setting circles
  • Contemplative nature walks
  • Nature hike
  • Mikva & meditation
  • Challah making

"You are more than what you produce."

IIFriday Night

Delight

Kabbalat Shabbat as experience, not performance. Candlelight, kiddush, challah, niggunim, stories, laughter — the table itself becomes a playground of Jewish wisdom.

  • Threshold ceremony
  • Candle lighting
  • Kabbalat Shabbat
  • Festive dinner
  • Farbrengen & niggunim

"Holiness is beautiful."

IIIShabbat Morning

Presence

No notifications. No news. No urgency. The morning unfolds slowly — silent reflection, contemplative davening, festive lunch in joyful community.

  • Silent reflection
  • Guided meditation
  • Contemplative davening
  • Festive lunch

"The opposite of distraction is not concentration. It is presence."

IVShabbat Afternoon

Being

The least programmed portion of the retreat — intentionally. Permission to stop striving, stop improving. To breathe, wander, and simply be.

  • Beach walks
  • Chavruta study
  • Outdoor learning
  • Solitude & reading
  • Rest & reflection

"Nothing is missing. You're perfect as you are."

VSeudah Shlishit

Transcendence

As the sun descends, the atmosphere quiets. Wordless melodies, mystical teachings, shared presence — one of the most spiritually elevated moments of the week.

  • Wordless niggunim
  • Mystical teachings
  • The additional soul
  • Sacred longing

"Reality is deeper than it appears."

VIHavdalah

Integration

Fire. Spices. Song. Blessing. A powerful Havdalah ceremony marks the transition back — Shabbat as training for life, not escape from it.

  • Candle, spices & wine
  • Closing blessing
  • Song & farewell

"The purpose of sacred time is to transform ordinary time."

Sanctuary moment
"A threshold is crossed. Ordinary time gives way to sacred time."

Beyond Shabbat

The retreat continues into the new week.

Shabbat is the heart — and the days that follow let what we received settle into the body before we return home.

Saturday Night

Song, Bonfire & Meditation

After Havdalah, gather around an open fire on the dunes. Live niggunim, acoustic song, guided meditation under the stars — Shabbat's afterglow held a little longer.

Sunday

Workshops & Private Sailing in the Hamptons

Workshops & Private Sailing in the Hamptons

A full day of deeper teachings, embodiment workshops and chavruta — and the centerpiece of the afternoon: a private sailing experience along the Hamptons coastline. Open water, wind in the sails, sunset over the bay. One of the most memorable moments of the retreat.

Monday Morning

Closing Circle & Departure

A gentle morning of journaling, a final shacharit, a closing circle to seal what we've received — and a blessing for the road home.

Snug Harbor · Montauk

The Setting

Snug Harbor, Montauk — the eastern edge of the Hamptons.

The Hamptons, New York

Snug Harbor · Montauk

We gather at a private waterfront retreat tucked into Snug Harbor on Montauk's quiet bay side — windswept dunes, open sky, salt air and ocean light. Far enough from the world to truly arrive, close enough to feel held.

The Table

Holistic, soulful, kosher cuisine.

Every meal is crafted with care — seasonal, plant-forward, nutrient-dense, and prepared with intention. Real food that nourishes body and soul, served slowly, eaten in community.

  • Glatt kosher · prepared on-site
  • Organic, seasonal, locally sourced when possible
  • Plant-forward with wild-caught fish options
  • Gluten-free and allergy-friendly adaptations
  • Cold-pressed juices, herbal infusions, mineral water
  • Mindful, unhurried, communal meals
